Will a metal halide for growing coral and lighting fish tanks grow plants as well?

My friend gave me a plant used for his coral to use on my indoor plants and I was wondering if they would work. The ºK on the bulb is 14000. I don’t know if I should get a new bulb or if this will be fine.
I meant my friend gave me a ballast and metal halide measured at 14000ºk. Is this too blue for my plants? He used this for coral and i heard that works well, but will it work for plants, too?
