How do i grow peas? and what is wrong with my tomatoes?
I have just bought a kit for growing peas.
It has sparse instructions.
I can grow them up a trellis but do I nip the tops out when they reach the top?
Also i am growing tomatos (Alhambra and gardeners delight)
The new growth at the top has gone very light green.
Is that ok or is something wrong.
I have not started feeding yet, I was told not to until the first truss has set.

A Kit?? My my, how things have changed since my day. …. Look, forget about all that B/S. .. Peas can be sewn or seedlings planted at Any time of year & in Any climate. …. You can follow the traditional planting in rows, so deep, this far apart etc,, but to me that is boring. All I do with my Vegetables, is 1/ Dig the soil ovr to break it up. 2/ Rake it. to give some furrows & so there are no big ditches. 3/ Scatter the seeds. 4/ Rake or scatter some soil over the top. (mostly so the birds don’t see them.) .. Oh yes,, Water them . .. I mix my seeds, but I make sure that the seeds I mix together all have the same requirements. .. Foe EXAMPLE,, “” Beans mixed with Peas. Carrots, Turnips,Parsnips,Onion all together. then I have Lettuces, Rocket,Spinach,& Tomatoes, mixed together. Leeks, Garlic, & Herbs, I plant as a border. … Potatoes & Pumpkins I put together, but plant deliberately where I want them, & just apart. ….If you are a bit unsure about it all, you can always start by raising your seedlings from seed in a seed raising mix, & then planting out the strongest plants. .. I do this,, when I have some unusual or delicate seed to raise. … Some say to add Food to soil about a week before planting, others say it goes by when they are fruiting. I say,, you go by Your Instincts, because they are Never wrong. … Use “Blood & Bone”, a Complete Plant Food, or Vegetable Food, or you might want to use Tomatoe Plant Food for tomatoes. ( I just use blood & bone & table scraps.) … Oh yes,, the light green is OK. If it goes Yellow or Brown,, then you “Might” have a problem. .. Get 1 Good Gardening Book. (Forget Plant pack instructions.) … “Yates Gardening Guide”, is a Very Good Book.
