briefly explain the foll terms regarding cellphones in layman language?
qwerty keyboard, hsdpa, quad band, cmos and ccd sensors, 3G, xenon and LED flash
Very briefly:
qwerty keyboard: Ever looked at a common English keyboard. You will find the letters Q,W,E,R,T,Y in one line at the top left and hence the name.
hsdpa: This is essentially a very high speed protocol(method) for transmitting data to wireless phones. So hsdpa means super fast internet connection.
quad band: quad = 4. So, it means 4 bands. Different countries use a set of frequencies or bands(like US has 850 MHz and 1900 MHz) for its cell phone networks. So a phone that has quad band can be used in many countries Worldwide.
cmos & ccd sensors: These are stuff used in a digital cameras and cell phones to capture light(from an image) and convert it into electrons(Kinda like the retina in our eye). CCD is more expensive and is used to produce higher quality images. So, when you talk about 7 megapixel camera, it probably has a ccd sensor.
3G: This is a standard for mobile phones and uses bandwidth (network) more efficiently than the older 2G standard.
xenon & LED flash: These are the flash devices on a digital camera or cell phones. I think xenon produces a brighter flash than LED.
