Reef T5 lighting?
I’ve been having my 15000k running for 8 hours, and the atinics running for 12 hours daily. For 9 months, corals have had good growth and coloration, How often should I change these t5 light bulbs?, some people say every 9 months, some say a year, some 1.5 years. Etc.
These are good quality JBL t5 bulbs, 80 watt, the longest available.
Yeah but people always say T5 lighting lasts longer thatn VHO and PC, I have definetely had PC before and they last 9 months. I have a 2 year old T5 lamp in a planted tank, I haven’t changed the bulbs and plant growth and health remains high.
Generally with the exception of LED, most lights whether VHO, SHO, T-5, or T-2 go through a half life every 6-9 months, so that is when I always change my client’s lights.
