Can you use grow lights 120 watt in standard maximum 60 watt outlet?
I bought a grow light for plants but the wattage seems to be higher than the maximum allowed for the light sockets.
60 watts has nothing to do with the capacity of the socket. The socket is rated for the carrying capacity of the circuit that is feeding it. Otherwise it doesn’t meet code. What the max 60 watt means is that the fixture can disperse the heat generated by a 60 watt lamp. A 100 watt lamp will generate too much heat. A grow light should be pendant hung if it is incandescent. A 120 watt light, on a 120 volt system, will dray app. 1 amp of current, which is only 1/12 of its allowable capacity. To answer your question, Yes, if you use a pendant fixture screwed into your existing socket.
