im taking norvasc for high blood pressure,sometimes i get lightheaded?
from it ,the dosage is 5 mil a day.tonight i was really realing,i dont know if its a head cold,allergies,syestrain,or using the computer.i get extremely nervous and my heart beats like a drum and i get sweaty.i have a blood pressure kit,i took my pressure and it was 138-76 and a pulse rate of 96,thats got to be nerves. what do you think? professional answers please.! usually these symptoms clear within 4 or 5 hours,i.im very nervous and cant calm down my normal pressure is 138-70 please help me!

You say you want a professional answer, but it was the “professionals” who put you where you’re at right now. Of course, you can still go with the “professionals”, but there’s a saying that goes, “You can’t keep doing the same things and expect different results.”
I’m no professional, but you might want to consider my answer, anyway – just for laughs, if for no other reason.
Your doctor has undoubtedly told you to cut back on salt because salt causes high blood pressure. But contrary to what you’ve heard or been told, salt does not cause high blood pressure, and if you’re following your doctor’s advice to cut back, you’re only compounding the problem.
High blood pressure is caused by dehydration – not drinking enough water.
Soft drinks, coffee, energy drinks and other alternatives that your doctor said it was okay to drink when he said. “drink plenty of fluids” may contain water, but they also act like diuretics in that they can pull out as much as 50% more water than they supply.
When the body senses a drought condition, it rations the water to make it available to the organs that absolutely can’t survive without water. It then needs to find more water to inject into the cells. Because the blood contains 94% water and salt, this is one of the common sources for the water that is needed.
Borrowing the water from the blood causes the arteries to constrict and the blood to thicken. This makes the heart have to exert more pressure to pump the blood – resulting in the higher blood pressure readings.
Doctors don’t agree with this diagnosis because it involves dehydration – and they don’t recognize dehydration as the cause of health problems unless they can charge $385 for an IV in the ER to prevent/treat dehydration – sort of a double standard, don’t you think?
And they’ll even side-step the issue when they tell you that excess salt causes high blood pressure. This is totally false.
When the blood thickens due to dehydration, the salt that was contained in the water gets concentrated. Doctors see this concentration of salt as “excess” and uses it to get people to stop eating salt. But this isn’t “excess” – it’s the result of the water being taken from the blood. It’s the result of dehydration.
The raise in blood pressure is the result of having to pump thickened blood through narrower arteries when the water was taken from the blood – also the result of dehydration.
By following the doctors advice to cut back on salt, now your water deficient AND salt deficient. It’s no wonder they need to prescribe medication to keep your blood pressure stable.
