all i know is when light is present, Light reaction will occur which glucose as the product. i also heard that the light is for hormone control, temperature control and there is two types of light. can anyone explain this? i want to know who does it works
The only plants, I can imaging to tolerate light night and day and benefit from it in producing better quality or quantity, could be C4-plants like sugar cane, millet, Chinese silver grass ( used as biomass ) and amaranth. That would explain your information about sugar too.

About the light, depending on the illuminant it could have different wave-length and it could heat a bit, but that will be a secret of the producers.
