Anyone know what the metal power bit at the back of a laptop is called?
Does anyone know what the tiny metal plug for power is called at the back of a laptop because mine is broken and i need to change it.
Trouble is, i dont know what its called. Its the bit at the back of a laptop where the power cable is inserted.

It’s the power connector. When they break, they can break three ways:
1) The connector itself can get bent or damaged. This is rare, but it just means the connector has to be replaced. (In some cases, you can repair it without even opening the laptop by bending the connector back the way it should be with a pin.)
2) The connector can crack away from the board it’s connected to. This is the most common problem. It can be fixed by reflowing the solder around the connector.
3) Force on the connector (like from someone tripping over the power cable) can apply so much force to the connector that it cracks the board it’s connected to. The connector is still attached to a piece of the board, but that piece is cracked off the rest of the board. This can sometimes be fixed by bridging the cracks with wire and gluing the board fragment in place to give the connector some mechanical leverage, but usually the board has to be replaced.
How exactly did it break? And can you tell how made the damage is?
